Bridal Show Booth

For how awesome our booth looks in these pics, it was much more impressive live. 8ftx8ft, we made this baby ourselves! New Year - New Logo!

We are so excited for 2011 and all that it has in store for our boutique photo studio! We're starting the year off with the release of our very own app available soon in the Apple iTunes App Store! We are also very excited to announce we are updating our studio branding. Plus, be sure to see us at our first event of the new year... the Winter Bridal Spectacular at the Sheraton Carlsbad Jan 9th.

I was so honored get featured as my Alma Mater's Featured Torero today! Seems fitting to talk about the growth of this studio in a University of San Diego publication, seeing that it was while attending college at USD that Joel Jordan Photography came into being. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to attend such an amazing university that gave me the tools to pursue my dream... corny, but so true! Check it out for yourself!

Love at San Diego State University

As we mentioned in our last post, San Diego has TONS of awesome locations to have great photo sessions! How can you possibly narrow down your selections? Well, we recommend that our couples in the process of picking their engagement session local do one thing... make it personal! By choosing a spot that is meaning to you or your relationship, it makes your session that much more special, romantic, sincere, etc. For our featured couple, Stephanie and Tomas, selecting SDSU was a natural pick considering its significance in their relationship; it was, after all, where these love birds first met... awe. It had been a few years since either of them had stepped on Montezuma Mesa and you could tell they were happy to be back.

The second step to having an amazing engagement session, or any photo session for that matter, is to HAVE FUN! I mean, we are blast to work with (wink), but this is all about you having a good time with the person you love most... if you do that, you can't help but get great results! As far as Stephanie and Tomas's session went... We ALL had fun, maybe too much fun! They were fearless, goofy and very much in love... if you don't believe me look for yourself:

La Jolla Cove Engagement

In San Diego, there is such an plethora of wonderful locations to capture that lovey-dovey engagement period with a photo session! Balboa Park, Downtown and the Gaslamp district, the Marina, on campus at one of the several stunning universities, the Flower fields in Carlsbad, the Del Mar Fair or racetrack, out in the desert, up in the mountains... heck even Mexico if you wanted! But the number one spot couples want their engagement session - THE BEACH!

With miles of gorgeous San Diego coast line, can you blame them!? Each area of beach has its own personality... from the flat dust-like sand on the beaches of Coronado, to the steep and rocky cliffs of La Jolla. Your session can can be very unique even though all beach shoots essentially contain the same main ingredients: Sand and Sea. The beach engagement can be the perfect thing for a couple who love this environment, but chose a drier location to say their I Do's. For Pamela and Justin... there was just simply no other place they would rather be!
